During the ship's drydock 2020 refurbishment (February 14 - March 4, done in Freeport Bahamas) were conducted regular maintenance works, repairs, cabin renovations. The USD 40 million drydocking project also included adding to the vessel Carnival's signature Fun Ship 2.0 upgrades - Guy’s Burger (Lido deck), Blue Iguana Cantina (Lido), Carnival WaterWorks (deck 10), Red Frog Rum Bar (deck 3).

Carnival Miracle Junior Suites are all located on deck 4 (Main) and feature balconies, shower/tub combos, and sitting areas with a sofa and a small table with three chairs. Camp Ocean, the kids facility aboard Carnival Miracle, is located on Deck 5, and is designed for kids age 2 and 11 on each cruise. Children are broken up into three categories, Penguins (age 2 to 5), Stingrays (age 6 to 8) and Sharks (age 9 to 11), and activities are tailored for each age group. Kids and teen club spaces have dedicated directors, although staffing and activities fluctuate greatly depending on the number of kids onboard (peaking during Christmas, Easter and summer holidays). Guest services is located at the base of the Atrium lobby on Deck 2. This desk was quite busy the first 24 hours of the cruise, and at its quietest when we were docked in port.
Carnival keeps people busy throughout the cruise, especially on sea days. Shows on Carnival Miracle are part of the line's Playlist Productions program. Each 30-minute show plays twice on one night of a seven-day cruise.

The 3-level main show lounge on Carnival Miracle is fashioned after "The Phantom of the Opera" and Paris Opera House. The elaborate production shows include a high-energy popular music medley from the last decades, called "Legends", as well as a Beatles-themed production. It received new carpeting and furniture as part of the recent refurbishment. Carnival Miracle ‘s crew is upbeat and warm, and genuinely engaged with passengers, and the main dining room delivered satisfying, sometimes above-average meals.
For kids ages 2 to 11, Camp Ocean provides age-specific groups and itineraries to keep your little ones entertained for hours, as trained professionals supervise their fun and offer both educational and enriching activities. If your itinerary is taking you to sunny locales, don’t stay indoors all day. Carnival Miracle offers loads of spaces for you to get in a little sun (just remember the sunscreen!). You can also order room service and pizza delivery, and attend special dining events, such as Carnival’s classic family-oriented, Seuss-themed Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast. Since Carnival Miracle’s launch, the ship has undergone a series of dry docks, to bring the ship up to modern standards and add new features and elements.
The aft portion of Deck 9 is devoted to the kid-free Serenity Deck, with a smaller pool and whirlpool, comfy loungers and sun beds, and a chill vibe. The endless view of the wake unfurling below is tranquility defined. Outdoor activities include a jogging track (15.2 laps equal a mile), the mini-golf course and a basketball court located on Deck 11, forward and available 24 hours, and the Ping-Pong tables found of Deck 10, forward. Wizards Video Arcade is located on Deck 4, hidden behind the Phantom Theater, while board games and crafts are available in the Joker Card Room, on Deck 2. Tucked away on Deck 3 is The Raven Library, which is a shadow of its former self. The computers for internet surfing have been removed, so all that's left is empty desks and a bookcase with a few dozen odds and ends for borrowing.
There were a dozen hangers in total, but we asked our cabin attendant for a couple extra, which were brought shortly after sail-away. There are three pools aboard Carnival Miracle, each with a whirlpool and located on Deck 9, plus a kiddie pool on Deck 11 next to the slide. The forward and midship pools, Sirens and Ulysses, are virtually identical, adjoined by party-sized whirlpools and shower stalls. The Ulysses Pool has a retractable roof, which is great when sailing in inclement weather. This is also the liveliest pool, with a stage for sail-away parties, as well as the grill and Odyssey Bar.
Carnival Miracle activities range from the standard pool-casino-spa offerings to most of the bells and whistles of the newer ships on the fleet, including water slides, great shows, ample sports areas, and themed kids’ cubs. With a capacity of 2,124 cruisers at double occupancy, the passenger-to-space ratio on Carnival Miracle and its sister ships is the best in the entire fleet. Extended Balcony staterooms feature a larger balcony with more outdoor lounge-around room, more open-air kick-back space… and back inside the room itself, all the comfort you expect with a great view and plenty of sunlight. When we say that Carnival Miracle takes you to another world, we mean that in every sense.
Or, challenge your kids to a game of hoops and show off your skills to the fam. This ship does offer interior with obstructed-view window staterooms, so if you feel like regular interior staterooms are a bit too boxy for you, you can upgrade to this slightly better option. On the smaller side (particularly compared to some of Carnival’s more modern ships), Carnival Miracle will pack you and just a cool, two thousand-or-so other travelers away, across its roomy-enough 12 passenger decks. Another way to gauge the cost of a cruise is to consider how much you'll spend on board. Even though a lot is included in the base cruise fare, you may still spend money on things like spa treatments, specialty dining, drinks, and excursions. In addition, guests can also have to pay for things like gratuities and tips.
